Heron Healing 

Dr. Kristy Heron is a licensed and certified massage therapist, acupuncturist, and wellness specialist who is credited with developing the MMSM technique, which therapeutically realigns the body's structure for pain relief and improved range of motion.  She is a managing partner and active practicioner at Elements Salon & Wellness Spa, an AVEDA concept salon and spa located in Towson MD.  As well as Spa Director at Bad Hair Day? in Rehoboth Beach, DE, an AVEDA lifestyle salon and spa.  Ms. Heron is a certified spa specialist for AVEDA, where she teaches certified massage techniques.

Ms. Heron earned her professional massage therapy degree from the Baltimore School of Massage, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Towson University.  She is also a graduate of  Tai Sophia Institute's  Master's of Acupuncture program.  She is a recent graduate in the Doctorate of Oriental Medicine Program from Maryland University Of Integrative .  

A former athlete herself, Ms. Heron pursued a career in alternative medicine based on her own personal experiences with injury and healing, and a passion to help others rehabilitate, heal, optimize wellness, and live their lives to the fullest.  She enjoys the opportunity she has each day to make personal connections with her clients, and be part of their processes of relaxing, healing, rejuvenating, or all of the above.

In her free time, Ms. Heron enjoys outdoor seasonal activities, ranging from snowboarding in the winter, hiking in the spring and fall, and paddleboarding under the warm summer sun.  She enjoys yoga, reading, cooking and attending concerts, as well as an occasional ice cream.
